Changing Sox
Jul. 19th, 2005 03:38 pmFew things of note today:
1. Alan Embree is gone. Thank God. I've watched that guy suck ass for the last time hopefully.
2. Scott Cassidy (who looked like he might actually develop into something good lately) got traded to San Diego for Adam Hyzdu, who spent some time with the Sox last year after the roster expanded to 40. He wasn't bad, it'll be nice to see him in a Sox uniform, but um...now the Sox have two backup CFs who are average hitters. Does this mean the Ex-Stern-inator is gone? I hope not. I'd rather they just trade Hyzdu away and get a reliever and keep Stern.
3. The Sox traded Chip Ambres and Juan Cedeno to the Royals for Tony Graffanino. I am sad to see Chip go, he was an awesome OF and on the verge of being ML ready, but I guess there really wasn't much room for him. That's a drag, he seemed like a pretty damn good player. Cedeno I don't know much about other than he's had mechanics issues, leaves the ball up way too much and can't throw an effective breaking pitch, and doesn't look like that good a prospect and the Royals are more or less taking a chance on him. Graffanino and Cora will probably platoon at 2B now and Bellhorn will be the backup. Problem solved? I hope.
Watch the pictures magically change!!!
