Shit went down and there's nothing I can do except whine here.
So I wrote a letter to the editor of the Oakley Press to a woman whose column was implicitly racist (in a sense). I thought to myself it won't get printed, more likely just discarded. Neither happened. The woman answers my letter in her next column, cuts out integral parts of my letter, and keeps only the ones that would make me look stupid, taking out key phrases and basically making me look like an asshole who didn't know his shit and her like some victim or something. Pathetic.
Then I have an ex-friend come to me and say "well she sure told you didnt she?"
Carolyn Dodds, you are a bimbo. You are a flat out racist and when someone called you on it, instead of manning up and apologizing you acted like a selfish brat and changed the evidence to work for you. Being a journalist must be some easy shit if you can get away with that. I just hope karma bites you in the ass and someday some pig employer won't hire you because he sees you as some blonde airhead girl or even worse, hires you, grabs your ass and calls you "baby" and threatens to fire you if you complain about it. Prejudice works past racism, moron.
Beth Allen, I don't know where the fuck you get off. You got married at what, 20? You're working at some shitty little town newspaper? You think you're someone special that you can go up to someone you haven't talked to in years and say "well I guess she told you, huh?". Then I tell her I talked to people who have degrees in journalism who called what she did "unprofessional" and her response is "well everyone THINKS they are an expert". Well, apparently our friend is unfamiliar with the concept of COLLEGE DEGREES. If you have "MA" or "Ph.D" somewhere around you, doesn't that MAKE you more qualified to talk about your level of study than some clown off the street? Are you gonna tell your doctor he's wrong because "Well you just THINK you're an expert". Someone with no idea of what education is.
How many dolts am I going to have to deal with???
I'm just gonna go to the ARC and work off this frustration.
