Dec. 7th, 2005 08:46 amThese days, I have so much sports blogging and shit to do that I rarely update this anymore.
Lacy and I broke up. (Technically I broke up with her). It was a lot of things, but ultimately it was something that wasn't going to happen, and better to end it sooner than later. Despite my effort to try and remain friends with her, this is something she did not want, and I respect that. It's disappointing, because I miss the conversations for sure, and if she was still around, I'd still have that. I enjoy hanging out with Sarah and talking to her quite a bit, I was hoping I could have that same kind of thing with Lacy.
I'm playing a ton of golf lately. I still am terrible at it, but I hope to get better. Golf and this board game called Acquire are seriously cutting into study time.
The diamond earrings sent to me turned out to be defective. I am currently seeking a refund.
Today is 2 things:
1. Pearl Harbor Day. Lost in 9/11 when it happened, this day was just as significant. I'm not usually a big military guy, but days of remembrance are ok with me. I'm not going to use this as a mechanism to "support the troops in Iraq" because I think that's a partisan ploy to get you to buy into their political agenda. I am a history guy, and World War II is the biggest event in 20th century U.S. history. That's worth thinking about, and not renting that terrible Ben Affleck movie.
2. My dad's birthday. Me and my mom collaborated on getting him an "Old Guys Rule" polo golf shirt for his birthday, since he turns 55 today and officially applies for senior citizen status. Tonight we will go to dinner at Cattlemen's in Dixon. Despite now being an old geezer, my dad is a pretty cool guy.
Devin is back! Too bad it's finals week coming up and crap. Oh, well. Good times soon.
