It's just a half game and it's only June, but it's first place and I'll take it. Amazing. Back in first place. Wakefield pitched simply masterfully today and a 3 run shot by Mirabelli led it off, Manny hit another 3 run shot later, and then Papi capped it off with another 2 runner. Jon Lieber got hit hard and the Phillies just straight got shut out. Friggin awesome game.

The Yankees have been losing like crazy. This could be one of the most underachieving teams in the history of baseball. All that money all that talent for like a .500 middle of the pack team. I don't usually gloat over shit like this...because the GOOD fans don't let it get to them too much. They don't talk shit, they know their role and they understand the game has its motions and the best team will always win on any given day.

It's the STUPID Yankee fans that this kicks ass about. The ones that talk ALL the shit are now silenced. They have NOTHING else going for them except they CHOSE to like the Yankees like it makes them some big shot and now they have nothing else and they're squirming. They'll cry all they want about their PAST victories. Talk about Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio and the good ol' days. All their titles and pennants.

Great. Your beloveds are still in 3rd and have lost 4 out of 5 to last place teams.

Again, the good Yankee fans understand baseball. Things happen and you can't win every game and you're going to go through bad streaks. The dumb ones don't understand baseball and when their team sucks they'll find something else to cry about. They'll totally forget about the fact that Pedro dominated them in favor of some Mickey Mantle homer in 1959. Wow, wonderful.

WOW. I've had my back turned to the AL East standings (maybe I've been too busy sobbing over the AL West standings) to notice that your boys were that close to first place. Or in first place now, I guess.
