So I'm following the France vs. Ireland matchcast online, and some of the descriptions of the game are kinda funny...makes the game seem really good when actually it just sounds like some boring 0-0 game with barely any shots.

Here's some of the funny descriptions:

8' "S. Given (IRL) pulls off a miraculous save leaping through the air, arms outstretched to save a shot from Z. Zidane (FRA) that is surely goal bound"

11' "The Republic of Ireland is if nothing else, extremely aggressive and physical as A Reid (IRL) takes down W Gallas (FRA) with another hard tackle from behind"

24' "C Makelele (FRA) spins superbly away from two defenders and unleashes a majestic powerful shot off his left foot that sails just wide"

33' "S Wiltord (FRA) breaks down right and feeds Z Zidane (FRA) via T Henry (FRA) but the Irish defense is strong and stubborn and collapses the French attack, allowing nothing to get through"

37' "W Sagnol (FRA) bundles D Duff (IRL) over again and is booked by the referee with a yellow card who is obviously frustrated and has had enough with the French defenseman"

45' "A pulsating first half ends goal-less as a combatative Ireland and a classy French squad cancel eachother out."

See what I mean? People sure take football seriously.

i loooooove it. one of the coolest parts about being in england, for sure, watching how into it everyone seemed to be, and the descriptions and getting into it too, and i got to be there over a world cup qualifier! fantastic stuff.
