People keep using the Texas/Louisiana comparison with the hurricanes to push political agendas. Allegedly, it's either because Bush is from Texas and the gov't cares more about the Texans or it's because the Texas gov't is just better than Louisiana's.

Can't we just say, it's a hurricane? Shit happens? Stuff gets blown over? Help people maybe instead of pushing an agenda? Keep gas and other raw prices the same instead of inflating them and using the hurricane as an excuse?

I was talking to my dad the other day about sports, and I was saying when you sit back and think about it, they're silly, and it's silly to think about it as much as I do. My example was thinking about grown men in "uniforms" with names like "Pirates" and "Chiefs" like they're pretending to be some badass group of guys playing a game. His answer was, "sports are a great way to keep people distracted from how incredibly corrupt the people in power are." I don't agree with him, but if you tweak that, it's a good way to just get your mind off stuff and forget about how stupid stuff is.

I could say more, but I helped my friend Matt move really heavy stuff into our apartment for about 3 hours today. I'm really burnt.

This has nothing to do with your post, but yeah, I just have to make sure I'm not the only one. Is calmdragon the worst baseball poster in the history of the world?

I can't really think of anyone in his league. From his posts at the beginning of the year saying "The Yankees are going to win the World Series this year, because they've won 26 before" to his All Star Ballot including Posada and Tino Martinez, to his logic of "every group of fans shoots their mouth off, therefore I'm entitled to my opinion and you should shut up. Yankee fans are better.", pound for pound the biggest doofus I've seen even pretend to talk ball.

And his fellow New York fans just laugh it off, kinda like you would laugh at an infant who tries to eat something and ends up with sauce all over his face.

Yeah, it's pretty embarassing. It wouldn't even be a problem if all he did was post those things in the Gameday Post, but he makes seperate posts that are so asanine that I just want to bang my head on the keyboard or something.

Okay I hate double commenting, but I spelled asinine wrong and that's really going to get on my nerves.

It might be the smug little smiles he puts at the end of each of his lines in the redsox community to pretend he doesn't really mean it that really kills me. I want to go on a rampage with him, but I know that everyone will think I'm an asshole (well, not that most don't already I'm sure) because he adds little smug smiles at the end of his post as a way to pretend he's not sincere about his thoughts.

PERFECT.

And I just wrote pretty much the same thing twice. This kid has me hyped up.

Go Yankees! :) Shame this this is tolerated, but I know that when I used to post reasonable responses in the Yankeesfans community I kept getting, "Why are you here? This si a Yankees community."

off-topic: hi

Just happened to see your post on the Red Sox community and noticed the Béla Fleck title. Classic song by a great artist.

Go Sox! (even though i'm not a huge baseball fan....)
