Two Mormons just came to the door.

I told them I was Catholic and they immediately left.

In other thoughts, I'm real sick of the "Support the Troops" thing on every TV channel every 5 seconds. "Fighting for my freedom". This can be interpreted many ways. In my opinion, what's going on in Iraq doesn't help me in any way, shape or form. "We need to remember they're not as privileged". They chose to enlist. I don't need a fucking reminder every minute.

So yeah, for those who don't know yet? I'm not a fan of the war. Call me Libertarian or whatever, but there's too many damn problems here to be worried about some other country's issues unless it's a severe threat to America directly or threatens mass genocide or something that's an obvious atrocity. "Support the troops". How about "feed the homeless"? "Employ the poor"? "Cure cancer"? Saddam Hussein had been in power for a long, long time. Now suddenly you get the green light to take him out and occupy the country against their will for as long as you feel like it? Get real.

So keep showing "support the troops". I'll proceed to giggle to myself as my stomach turns.

Good point re: Sudan. It's difficult to intervene there because of the politics between the two sides from a world view, but something certainly must be done there, and as far as I know, only a couple countries have done anything at all to alleviate the situation there.

Whether America's intervention in the war "stopped" the Holocaust is questionable. America's contribution in both world wars is (relatively) limited. It certainly made it quicker, no doubt.
