Thinkin of you wide awake for days
Oct. 25th, 2005 10:53 amDays like today...yuck.
I'm growing increasingly tired of just, everything. They teach communication classes for a reason. Because dealing with people is incredibly difficult. We're all stubborn, selfish people. Part of that is quite innate, there's a certain arrogance that goes with being the top of the food chain and having the largest precortical region on the planet. A lot of that is this stupid individualist culture. Everyone's an individual, but in this individualist ideology we've moved into this frame of mind where every individual is above everyone else.
Ever stop to think how silly some things are? Paper money? Seriously, how much is a piece of paper with green ink on it REALLY worth? It's no better than the people on Yap that use rocks as currency. It's only a dollar, or five dollars, or ten because we believe that it is one or five or ten.
Today's one of those days where I woke up on the right side of the bed but just increasingly fell off. Hopefully I can do something later tonight to lift my spirits. Until then, I have two very dull classes, neither of which I'm the least bit thrilled about going to. Japanese history...the content is interesting, but our professor ("Bozo the Clown" as Nafeh calls him) makes everything seem so unimportant. That and he runs through his self proclaimed "unimportant details" so quickly and with such accumulation that it's practically impossible to follow and figure out what exactly it is you need to take out of it. And psychology...well, that crap is just boring. It really doesn't get me thinking to hear about different theories of how the optical receptors function in color perception and light refraction. That just isn't my thing.
Still have papers to write too.
